Gluten Free Hoisin Sauce

Still trying to perfect this recipe but getting closer each time, so it may be different next time you're here. I haven't quite got the 5 spice, Siracha, and Agave/honey quite right yet so experiment around with those variables.



Ingredients

  • 1 Tsp. Sesame Oil

  • 1 Tbsp. Shallot - Minced

  • 6 Cloves garlic - Minced

  • 1/2 Cup GF Soy Sauce

  • 1/4 Cup Tahini

  • 3 Tbsp. Agave (or Honey)

  • 1 Tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar (or Rice vinegar)

  • 1/2 Tbsp. 5 Spice powder

  • 1 Tsp Siracha

Directions

  1. Heat sesame oil over medium heat until just shimmering

  2. Add shallot and garlic and cook for a couple minutes

  3. Add soy sauce, tahini, agave, vingear, 5 spice, and siracha

  4. Reduce to low heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Let cool and use as a marinade or use immediately as a dip or sauce
